Thanks for reading my first blog! I am hoping to write about all kinds fun travel stuff. Feel free to sugest any topics you want me to talk about. I thought I would start off with a warning you have heard over and over. Get to the airport early!
I know, I know. You always have plenty of time, and you don't want to sit around and eat a $9 breakfast taco. But really, how much more trouble will it be if you miss your flight?
Here is how my trip to Vegas started last week. I have been to the airport early in the morning plenty of times. It is never really crowded. I sit around waiting and waiting. Not last week. Who knew it would take 30 minutes to get through security and 6:00 am on a Tuesday! We were checked in online, but even that only saved us a couple of minutes. We were the last people on the plane with only about 5 minutes to spare! No time to catch our breath, or put our shoes back on.
The moral of the story is, do as I say, not as I do. This is especially important if you will be traveling this holiday season. You will save yourself lots of hassle and stress! Even if you think it is a non peak time, you never know what is going on at the airport. Hope everyone has stress free travels this holiday season!

Thanks for the advice! I would love for you to plan some travels for me, but first Michael has to stop working 60+ hours a week. If you ever come to Atlanta in YOUR travels, let me know. We are only a little over an hour south of Atl.
Amen to your advice. I left Quito December 3, 2014. Arrived 2 hours early because 1.5 years ago I had secondary inspections to deal with. Bingo! Happened again and doubly so. My suitcase got hung up downstairs at the x-ray machine and then I had to hand carry it to another security person to examine it again. Then had to re-enter security with my handbag. A total nightmare but I'm going to do it again and again. Can't figure out how to get around it. One person told me I got there to early but if this happens you need time. Love your blog and good job!
